Along with each course, you are required to complete a final exam. All final exams are open book. Each exam has 100 questions; to pass, you must answer at least 60% of the questions correctly.
The Department of Real Estate requires specific waiting periods between the time you enroll in a course and when you are eligible to take the final exam. After you receive your textbook, you must wait at least 18 calendar days before taking the final exam.
When you are eligible for your final exam, you will receive an e-mail from The Real Estate Centre. The e-mail will include a link that will direct you to your online exam. You must complete the course and take the final within one year of enrolling.
Please note, if you enroll in more than one course at the same time, there is an 18 day waiting period before you can take each final exam. Here’s an example of how final exams would be scheduled for a student taking multiple courses:
- Final exam for first course = 18 days after you receive your textbooks
- Final exam for second course = 36 days after you receive your textbooks
- Final exam for third course = 48 days after you receive your textbooks
- Final exams for each additional course must be spaced at least 18 days apart
The 18 day waiting period between courses is a minimum; once you go beyond the 18 days for an individual course, you can take the final exam any time you wish. If you enroll in a number of courses and don’t want to take your final exams on a rigid 18 day schedule, you’re welcome to take as many exams as you want, at any time you want, as long as the minimum time periods have elapsed.
Sound confusing? It can be, but remember, you will receive e-mail notifications as soon as you are eligible for each final exam. Or, you can call The Real Estate Centre at 310-410-9718 for more information.
