The qualifications for the California Real Estate Broker license are outlined below. For more specifics on whether you qualify to take this exam, visit the California Department of Real Estate web site, www.dre.ca.gov.
Real Estate Broker License Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have legal presence in US as defined by the California Department of Real Estate.
- Have two years full time experience as a real estate salesperson, or hold a Bachelor’s degree in any subject area, or be a member of any state bar association.
- Complete the educational requirements outlined by the California Department of Real Estate. Click here to enroll.

Please note, there is one exception to the coursework requirements for the broker license. Members of any state bar are considered to have met their educational requirements and can apply directly for the licensing exam.
